About CSN

After almost two years of experimentation, planning, and organization, CobraSportsNet went public on December 16, 2009.  Our debut podcast was aired on January 6, 2010.  Since that time, this project has produced more sports play-by-play in that span of time than the college or any part of it had produced since the doors of Parkland were opened in the 1970's.  Since February, 2010 we have been committed to bringing you LIVE coverage of all Cobra home games in all sports plus LIVE coverage of tournament play as well.  We work hard at what we do, but we have fun doing it too.

We are a student and faculty production team that strives to bring Parkland College athletics to audiences both new and old.  One part of our mission is to honor the student athletes by giving their efforts the widest possible exposure.  We are also a training ground for students of sports broadcasting.  The core of that effort is a production-centered course, COM 150 - Sports Broadcasting.  This course, which may be repeated for 6 credits, provides professionally-directed teaching and lab experience in all the venues in which Parkland athletes compete.
