Parkland Bounces Back With Game Two Win Over Hawks

Pennington went the distance scattering eight hits and allowing just one run over 7 innings.  It was the Cobras turn to take advantage of defensive miscues as four of the Cobras five runs were unearned. PC got on the board in the 3rd scoring on a wild pitch and added a run again in the 4th as Xavier Warren stole third and came on an errant throw by the catcher. Up 2-1, PC scored three times in the 5th as Glenn Reeves drove in a run and the other two runs came home on a bases loaded walk and another wild pitch. Pennington blanked the Hawks over the final two innings to earn his 6th win of the year. The win improves the Cobras to (31-17 15-11) while Heartland is (39-10 21-5).

Cobras Miss Chances and Fall to Heartland in 12 Innings

Game 1: Heartland 6  Parkland 4  12 innings
The Cobras jumped out early as the built an early 3-0 lead on the visitors. Tyler Anderson got the start and was strong through 7+ innings giving up just one earned run.  The Cobras got on the board in the 1st on back to back hits by Donovan Chandler and Curtiss Johnson. Chandler would come on home on a ground out by Glenn Reeves. PC would score two more times in the 3rd on a two out RBI single by Xavier Warren. Back to back errors by Anderson allowed a pair of HCC runs to score in the 4th. A throwing error allowed HCC to tie the game in the 7th and the Hawks scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch by reliever Tyler Burcham.  Burcham would hold HCC at bay allowing the Cobras to tie the game on another Warren RBI.  Nick Coudret was solid in relief in the 11th but got into trouble in the 12th when he first two batters of the inning. Jeff Lavin relieved and retired the first two hitters but Matt Byars two run single on a 1-2 pitch gave HCC the two run lead. PC could get nothing going over the final 4 innings, getting just three base runners on a hit and a pair of walks. The Cobras out hit HCC 13-10 in the game..
