Cobra Men Fall to #1 Bulldogs

December 11th, 2013
The PC Men's Basketball team had the rare opportunity to knock off a #1 team in the NJCAA D-2 poll for the second time this season but unlike their first chance, this time the Cobras fell short dropping an 83-71 contest to South Suburban.  The athletic Bulldogs placed all 5 players in double figures as they used a 10-0 second half run to put the game out of reach. PC would claw back to within 8 on a pair of occasions but could not get any closer as they saw their six game winning streak come to an end.

Parkland was paced by Shane Seniour who came up with a gutty 23 point and 7 rebound contest while Lance Magee finished with 17, 15 in the second half.   Capreace Salinas was once again solid off the bench with 9 points and a pair of assists.

Balance was the key for South Suburban as their top five players all scored between 13 and 18 points. Antonio Levy had 18 points to go along with 4 assists, Anthony Strickland 17, Marius Hopkins 15, Korbin McClain finished with 14 points and 9 rebounds while Jalen Brown had 13 points and grabbed 7 boards.  The five starters scored 77 of the Bulldogs 83 points in the game.

Parkland (6-4) is off until next Saturday when they host Lincoln Trail starting at 4:00. The Cobras edged the Statesman 51-49 on a shot at the buzzer by Shane Seniour back in November in Robinson. South Suburban now stands at (10-2) on the year.
