Cobras Knock Fredrick CC Out Of World Series

The Cobras prevail in another comeback victory, this time over Fredrick Community College.  Behind more clutch hitting from Kevin Kiermaier, the Cobras were able to hang on for an 11-8 victory to stay alive at the NJCAA Division II World Series.  Cobrasports.net was on hand with the call.

Cobras Advance in a Wild One

Darin Worman hurled 7 scoreless innings, while the Cobra offense put up 7 of their own through the first 8 innings.  Lenoir Community College put up 8 of their own in the 8th off of the Cobra bullpen to take an 8-7 lead into the 9th inning.  Behind home runs from Kevin Kiermaier and TJ McManus the Cobras took an 11-8 lead in the 9th and held on to earn a Memorial Day Showdown against Fredrick Community College.

Rain Hits Enid

The Parkland Cobras second game here at the NJCAA World Series is currently in a rain delay as the game was scheduled to start at 7 pm.  Things are clearing up and the grounds crew is starting to remove the tarp.  Game will be posted in its entirety when it is completed here on Cobrasports.net.

Baseball: Cobras Fall In Series Opener

The Parkland Cobras suffered a setback on Friday at the national tourney, falling 16-5 to LSU-Eunice.  The Cobras will play again tomorrow night at 7 p.m. versus the loser of the Paradise Valley CC / Lenore CC contest.  Check back here on Cobrasports.net for updates as the tournament progresses.

Cobras Returning to NJCAA World Series!

Darin Worman fired 2 scoreless innings to finish off rival Heartland Community College to clinch a spot in the NJCAA World Series! Worman also finished off the Hawks in game one as his strong performance earned him the Region 24 Tournament MVP.  The Cobras will next play in Enid, Oklahoma on Saturday 5/29 at 4:00pm.  Cobrasports.net will be along for the ride, so be sure to check here for results.

Final Golf Results

Bryan Ideus shot a four-day 72-hole total of (75-77-71-78 301) to finish in 36th place at the recently completed NJCAA D-II Golf Finals at Palm Valley Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona. The freshman from Rantoul was solid all week as he finished in the top 1/3 of the 130-player field.

Rain Monday stopped the Cobras 6 outs from the NJCAA National Championship Tourney.  The Cobras had already defeated Heartland once on the day, but had to repeat their conquest in order to pack for the trip to Enid.   In the second game, at the start of the bottom of the 8th, the summer thunderstorm that hit Springfield left fans wet and wondering.  The matter will be decided tomorrow at 5 at Robin Roberts Stadium.  We hope to bring you those final two innings in some form.  Meanwhile, please enjoy the 7.5 innings that were played.  Just click on the icon below.

Game 2 Of Championship Round of Region 24 In Rain Delay

The rain is pouring here in Springfield at the Region 24 tournament and the game is currently delayed.  As we stand, Parkland currently has a 10-9 lead in the top half of the 8th inning.  The game has officially been postponed and will resume Tuesday 5/25 at 5pm.

Cobras Pick Up Big Win VS SCI To Advance To Region 24 Final

In a must win game for the Cobras, they battled all game long and come out with a 13-9 victory over Springfield College of Illinois.  Parkland advances to meet the top seed Heartland Community College Hawks in the final game of the Region 24 tournament.  Producer Brian Schutte will be on hand to call the action at Lanphier park so don't forget to check Cobrasports.net for the call.
