Cobras Bats on Fire in Game 1 Win Over Spoon River

Game 1:

The Cobras struck early and often as they rolled to a 12-3 win. PC broke the game open in the 1st scoring six times. Brendan Joyce walked, Trevor Minder singled, and Trystin Raikes followed with a 2 run triple. Damian Pierce and Max Downs  also delivered RBI singles in the inning.  Pierce added a two-run single in the 2nd as PC pushed their lead to 8-0.  Spoon River would score three unearned runs in the 3rd but Tyler Paulsen would get two of them back with a two-run round tripper in the bottom of the inning.  Raikes, Pierce and Christian Sanchez all had two hits in the win to back the solid pitching of Jaret Olson and Alex Skibba. Olson earned the victory working four innings allowing no earned runs on three hits while striking out eight. Skibba picked up the save working the final three innings allowing only a hit and striking out five.
