Blazers Score Late but Cobras Finish the Sweep

May 11th, 2018

Game 2:

PC scored six runs in the 1st and led 13-2 after four innings but had to hold off a late Blazer rally to win 14-10. PC blasted four home runs in the contest as four different players hit round trippers.

PC got on the board quickly as Connor Aube got things started with an RBI single. Trystin Raikes hit his 12th home run of the season, a three-run shot, to make it 4-0 and Nick Wisz hit a two-run blast, his 4th of the year.

Lewis and Clark got one run back in the 2nd but PC would score three more times in the second to push the lead to 9-1. The Blazers would again score a single tally in the 3rd but PC answered with four of their own. Connor Aube's 7th of the season, a three-run shot, gave PC a 13-2 lead.  The Cobras were three outs away from winning in the 5th, but the Blazers took advantage of four walks to plate three runs and cut the lead to 13-5. L&C would not go away as they would get six hits in the 6th to score five runs and pulled within three at 13-10. Daniel Warkentin hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot, to give PC an insurance run in the 6th, and reliever Ty McCulloch would work a perfect 7th to secure the win.

Evan Snyder (1-0) worked two innings in relief to earn his first win and Connor Aube was the hitting star as he drove in five runs for the game.
