Parkland Holds on to Take Down Lincoln

January 31st, 2015

The Lynx of Lincoln College came to Parkland tied for the Conference lead at (2-0) but they would leave the Dodds Athletic Center with an L as the Cobras hold on for a 58-57 win.  Lincoln controlled most of the game as they would take a 31-24 lead to the half.  The Cobra defense played much better in the second half as they would overcome a double digit deficit multiple times to pick up the win.  Parkland would hold for the final shot and Kamal Shasi would be fouled on a jumper with two seconds remaining.  After Kamal missed the first foul shot, Lincoln would call their final timeout to ice the shooter.  It was not a successful strategy as Shasi calmly came out of the huddle and knocked down the second on for the one point win.  Cody Russell would lead Parkland in scoring with 15 points as the team was plagued with foul trouble throughout.  With the win Parkland improves to (18-4) on the season and (2-1) in the Conference.
